O'Connor Breaks School Record In First Day Of MAAC Swimming Championships

BALTIMORE, Md. - For the second straight season, senior Megan O'Connor broke the Canisius College school record in the 500-free with a time of 5:20.15 in the evening session of the 2005 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted by Loyola College. O'Connor almost broke her former record of 5:22.57 in the afternoon preliminaries with a time of 5:22.85, but came back strong later in the evening for her record-breaking performance.

On the men's side, freshman Zach Jenkins swam a personal-best 2:01.65 in the 200 individual medley to highlight a strong first-day performance by the Golden Griffins.
