PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Canisius College men's swimming and diving team returned to action last weekend, falling to host Duquesne 117-55 and losing to VMI 162-33. Freshman Jason Zilbauer placed fourth in the 50-free with a time of 23.26 and third in the 100-free with a mark of 52.86. Freshman Michael Brunson placed third in the 500-free with a time of 6:10.80 and senior Jake Harris finished third in the 100-breast with a time of 1:11.72.
The Canisius women fell to host Duquesne 110-74. Senior Kellie Guth won the 100-back with a time of 1:09.03 and placed third in the 100-fly with a time of 1:06.69. Freshman Jennifer Maddaluno won the 500-free with a time of 6:04.78 and junior Melissa Trometer took top honors in the 100-breast with a mark of 1:15.08.
The men and women return to action Nov. 8 at Niagara University in Lewiston, N.Y. for a 1:00 p.m. meet.
