Rowing Prepares for 2026 MAAC Championship

The Canisius rowing team is set to take part in the 2026 MAAC Rowing Championship on Sunday, May 17, at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken Township, N.J.

The first race is scheduled for 9:50 a.m., and the event will be broadcast live on ESPN+. This marks the seventh time in recent eight years that Cooper River Park has served as the host site for the conference's championship rowing event.

Last year, the Blue and Gold accumulated 25 points, finishing in sixth in the nine-team field. Fairfield captured the 2025 MAAC Championship crown with 47 points and won the Varsity 8 grand final, which broke a tie with three-time defending league champion Jacksonville.

This year, the Golden Griffins will compete in the Varsity 4, 2nd Varsity 8 and the 1st Varsity 8. There are six schools in this year's championship race - Canisius, Fairfield, Jacksonville, Marist, Merrimack, Sacred Heart and Stetson.
