Gautreaux and Forcucci Earn MAAC Weekly Awards

Graduate student Isabel Gautreaux and freshman Ella Forcucci both earned Jersey Mike's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse weekly awards, the conference office announced Monday.

Gautreaux earned defensive player of the week while Forcucci was named rookie of the week after Canisius downed Manhattan, 18-3, for its first conference victory of the season.

Gautreaux made 13 saves on 16 shots for a .813 save percentage as she secured her first weekly award since joining Canisius in the spring.

A native of Bel Air, Md., Gautreaux spent two seasons at Delaware State and one season at St. Mary's College of Maryland and was selected to the Puerto Rico Women's U20 National Lacrosse Team.

Forcucci notched her seventh weekly conference award of her career, scoring three goals and dishing out two assists. Forcucci opened up her collegiate career with seven straight hat tricks which set a program record and has notched three-or-more goals in eight of her first nine games.

Canisius continues conference play with a midweek home contest against Quinnipiac on Wednesday. Game time at the Demske Sports Complex is scheduled for 3 p.m. and the contest will stream live on ESPN+. Admission to the game is free.
