Women’s Lacrosse Well Represented on Team Canada Roster at 2026 World Championship

The Canisius women's lacrosse program will be well represented on the Team Canada roster at the 2026 Nissin Foods World Lacrosse Women's Championship, which begins Friday in Tokyo, Japan.

The No. 2 ranked team in the world heading into the championship, Team Canada will be co-coached by former Canisius head coaches Allison Daley '11 and Scott Teeter '02. Fellow Canisius alumnae Ashley Bull '17 joins Daley and Teeter on the coaching staff as an assistant coach while Erica Evans '18 earned a spot on the 22-player roster for the championship.

The 16-team event will be held from July 24-August 2. The teams are broken into four-team pools for pool play over the first five days of the tournament. The top two finishers in each pool will advance to the eight-team knockout round. All games of the 2026 Nissin Foods World Lacrosse Women's Championship are slated to stream live on World Lacrosse TV.

Daley continues her long-term association with Team Canada as she has represented the Red and White at multiple major events, earning silver medals at the 2017 World Cup, 2017 World Games, the 2019 U19 World Championships and the 2022 World Championships. She was also a member of Canada's gold medal–winning U19 team at the 2015 World Championships. Daley also served as the head coach of Canada's Women's U20 National Team in 2024.

A standout goaltender and team captain during her four seasons on Main Street, Daley earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, MAAC Tournament MVP and IWLCA All-Region honors while setting school records for career saves and goals-against average.

Teeter also has extensive international experience with Team Canada, having served as head coach at multiple major international events. Teeter guided the Senior Women's Field Team to a silver medal at the 2017 World Championships and served as head coach of the senior national team at both the 2022 World Championship and the 2022 World Games.

During his 15 years as head coach at Canisius (2003-17), Teeter guided the Golden Griffins to five MAAC Tournament titles and four regular-season crowns. His players received a total of 20 MAAC Player of the Year awards while also garnering 73 All-MAAC selections.

Bull, meanwhile, was a four-time MAAC Champion, a two-time First Team All-MAAC selection and the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2014. She has represented Canada on the international stage as a member of the 2011 U19 Women's National Team, helping the Red and Whtie capture a bronze medal and again in 2024 at the inaugural Women's Box Lacrosse World Championship.

One of the most decorated players in program history, Evans was a three-time MAAC Midfielder of the Year honoree and the school's first-ever Tewaaraton Award Semifinalist in 2017. The Peterborough, Ontario product finished her career as the program's career record holder for goals (186) as well as the school's single-season record holder for both points (91) and goals (76).

Internationally, Evans has represented Canada as a member of the senior women's national team and the U-19 squad. She helped guide Canada to silver medals at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's Championship and the 2024 World Box Lacrosse Championships, as well as a gold medal at the 2022 World Games. Evans has been recognized as an all-tournament team selection at 2024 World Box Lacrosse Championships, the 2017 World Games and the 2015 FIL U-19 Women's World Lacrosse Championship.
