Evan Konyen notched the lone goal for the Tigers (13-11-0, 9-7-0 AHA). Jakub Krbecek got the start in goal for RIT and made nine saves before being replaced by Collin Mackenzie, who finished with 12 stops.

Tarr opened the scoring just 39 seconds into the contest when he slipped a puck past Krbecek after the Griffs forced a turnover in the RIT zone.
Chiddenton made it a 2-0 contest before the five-minute mark of the opening frame as he jammed home a loose puck after graduate Alton McDermott's initial attempt hit both posts during a power-play opportunity for Canisius. Price capped the first-period salvo at the 17:39 mark of the opening frame, burying a rebound into the Tigers goal after freshman FJ Buteau's shot from the point was blocked by a RIT defenseman. Buteau expanded the Canisius cushion to 4-0 with a power-play goal near the midway point of the middle frame as he slid home a rebound after MacKenzie made the initial save on a shot by senior Killian Kiecker-Olson. Konyen spoiled the Griffs shutout bid less than three minutes into the third when he knocked home a loose puck during a goal mouth scramble to determine the final margin.
