Rowing Places Sixth at MAAC Championship

The Canisius rowing team closed out the 2024-25 season on Sunday afternoon, as the Golden Griffins took part in the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rowing Championships at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken Township, N.J. Canisius earned 25 points and placed sixth out of nine teams.

Fairfield captured the 2025 MAAC Rowing Championship in dramatic fashion after the Stags complied 47 points and won the varsity 8 grand final, which broke a tie with three-time defending league champion Jacksonville. The victory propelled Fairfield to the program's first automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division I Rowing Championship and it serves as Fairfield's first MAAC Championship rowing crown in a quarter-century.

After the day's events, the MAAC announced that junior Francesca DiCamillo was named to the 2025 All-MAAC First Team, while senior Hannah Kenefick earned All-MAAC Second-Team honors. For DiCamillo, this marks the first time she has earned all-league status and Kenefick's appointment to the second-team serves as her third-straight All-MAAC acknowledgment.

The Griffs' varsity 4 entry placed fifth with a time of 8:48.233 en route to five points, and then the team's second 8 boat earned the Blue and Gold eight points after Canisius took sixth with a time of 7:17.487. In the varsity 8 grand final, Canisius crossed the line in sixth with its time of 6:53.199.
