Rowing Prepares for NYS Championships Saturday

Race Central - NYS Collegiate Championships
Date: Saturday, April 19th
Location: Saratoga Springs, N.Y. | Fish Creek
Field: 27 teams

The Canisius rowing team prepares for the New York State Collegiate Championships on Saturday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. at Fish Creek.

The regatta serves as a regional championship for collegiate teams within the state of New York. This is the second consecutive year that the Golden Griffins have competed at the regatta.

Canisius returns to action after competing at the Knecht Cup last weekend. In that race, the Griffs notched wins against conference rivals including Fairfield and Stetson on their way to the finals, besting other Division I non-conference opponents, including Duquesne, Fordham and Lehigh.

The New York State Championships is the third straight week of racing for the Griffs. Canisius began its season on April 6, playing host to Mercyhurst and Robert Morris. In that regatta, the Golden Griffins swept the field, notching first place finishes in every race.
