On-Campus Hockey Watch Party Set for Thursday Night

Canisius announced today that it will hold a "Hockey Watch Party" on Thursday, March 23 when the Golden Griffins take on No. 1 Minnesota in the first round of the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Championship in Fargo, N.D. The game will be televised live on ESPN2 and ESPN+.

The watch party, which is open to Canisius students, faculty and staff and alumni will start at 8:45 p.m., at the Economou Dining Hall inside the student center. The night will feature free food, courtesy of Chartwells, a cash bar for attendees 21 and older, and the first 150 Canisius students in attendance will receive a free T-shirt.

Alumni registration for this event is strongly encouraged. Please CLICK HERE to register.

Alumni, family and friends attending the game in Fargo, N.D., are invited to a pregame party, hosted by Canisius' Office of Alumni Engagement. That event will start at 5 p.m. (Central time) at the Wurst Bier Hall, located within the Cityscapes Plaza, at 630 1st Avenue North in Fargo, N.D. No prior registration is needed for that event.

Canisius, the 2023 Atlantic Hockey champions, earned the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Championship tournament by defeating Holy Cross 3-0 last Saturday night at LECOM Harborcenter. This is the Griffs' second league crown, and first since 2013.
