Barczewski, Mastrodonato Garner All-AHA Third Team Accolades

Canisius hockey seniors Jacob Barczewski and Keaton Mastrodonato were both recognized on Monday as the Atlantic Hockey Association announced its All-AHA Teams for the 2022-23 season.

Barczewski and Mastrodonato were both All-AHA Third Team selections as Monday's announcement marked the third straight season that both players received All-AHA designation for their play.

A native of O'Fallon, Mo., Barczewski garnered All-AHA Third Team honors after a regular season that saw him start 19 league games between the pipes for the Golden Griffins, compiling a 10-8-1 record with a 2.77 goals against average and a .916 save percentage. Barczewski allowed two goals or fewer in 11 of those 19 starts, registering a 7-3-1 record in those contests. A two-time AHA Goalie of the Week selection, Barczewski finished the regular season by posting a 2.32 goals against average and a .931 save percentage in six starts during the month of February, helping the Golden Griffins earn a top-four seed in the 2023 Atlantic Hockey Association Postseason.

Mastrodonato, meanwhile, finished tied for the team lead in scoring during conference play, recording 26 points on a team-high 14 goals and 12 assists in 26 games played. The Power River, British Columbia, product recorded multiple points on seven occasions, highlighted by a pair of three-point performances in victories against AIC (Nov. 11) and Holy Cross (Feb. 25). The AHA Player of the Month for February, Mastrodonato was on fire offensively during the final month of the regular season as he paced the circuit in both goals (10) and points (15) over the last four weeks of the campaign.

No. 4 seed Canisius will host No. 7 seed Holy Cross in the Atlantic Hockey Championship on Saturday at LECOM Harborcenter. Ticket information and start time will be announced once they are finalized.
