Three Men’s Basketball Games Part of MAAC Wildcard Broadcast Agreement

Three Canisius men's basketball games, including the Golden Griffins' home date with Iona on Feb. 10, have been selected to be a part of the 2022-23 MAAC Wildcard Broadcast Package, the conference office announced Thursday.

On four selected Friday nights from Jan. 27 through Feb. 24, any MAAC men's basketball regular-season contest on the schedule can be flexed to air live on ESPNU as part of the league's broadcast agreement with ESPN.

ESPN and the MAAC will announce the wildcard game 21 days prior to the scheduled contest. The wildcard format allows ESPN to pick any game scheduled for that specific date to air on ESPNU, giving the flexibility to showcase the best matchups as the season progresses.

Canisius' three dates to potentially appear on ESPNU are Feb. 3 at Niagara, the Feb. 10 home date vs. Iona and Feb. 17 at Rider. The Griffs' last appearance on ESPNU came on Feb. 21, 2020 at Quinnipiac, and the team's last home ESPNU date was March 1, 2019 when the Blue and Gold beat Siena at home by the score of 68-62.

The full broadcast schedule for both the Canisius men's and women's basketball programs will be released in the near future. Season tickets for the full 28-home game schedule are available now online (CLICK HERE) or by phone by calling the Canisius ticket office at (716) 888-TIXX.
