Women's Lacrosse Announced Trio of Transfers to 2023 Roster

Canisius women's lacrosse head coach Russell Allen announced the addition of three transfers to the roster for the 2022-23 season on Tuesday.

Ivy Santana (Seneca Nation/Albany), Maddie Mazur (Lancaster N.Y./St. Bonaventure) and Ellie Lewis (Bozeman, MT/Presbyterian) will join the Golden Griffins this upcoming Spring. Santana joins as a graduate student, Mazur a junior and Lewis a sophomore.

Comments from Allen on the three newcomers can be found below.

On Ivy Santana:
"Ivy Santana is a very skilled player who fits into our offense, both on the elbow and low. She's a dual threat to both drive and feed and her maturity as a grad student is very valuable."

On Maddie Mazur:
"We are so thrilled to have Maddie Mazur in Blue and Gold!  Maddie will have an immediate impact on our team, but I think we are just starting to scratch the surface of her potential."

On Ellie Lewis:
"Ellie has played all over the field in her lacrosse career and we have her playing defense after playing attack at her previous school. She's learning our systems on the defensive side of the ball and has been working hard."

The Griffs went 10-6 overall and 5-3 in MAAC play during Allen's first season at the helm, falling in the first round of the MAAC Championships against Fairfield.
