The Canisius men's soccer team begins the 2022 season Thursday with a non-conference road match against Cleveland State. Kickoff from Krenzler Field is slated for 7 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN+.

This will be the seventh matchup between the Golden Griffins and Vikings. The two programs last played one another on Oct. 30, 2011, when host Cleveland State took home a 2-1 victory.

Thursday's contest against Cleveland State will also mark the first game for new head coach Michael Tanke. Tanke was named the 15th coach in program history on Feb. 3.

Canisius returns to action Aug. 28 in its home opener against Duquesne. The match is slated for a 1 p.m. start at the Demske Sports Complex.
