Haskell, Lexa Earn All-MAAC Accolades

Sophomore Dani Haskell and freshman Athina Lexa both received All-MAAC honors Monday morning, the conference office announced.

Haskell earned All-MAAC Third Team honors after averaging 14.1 points over 29 games, which ranked as the eighth-best by a MAAC player this season. The Franklinville, N.Y., native shot 36 percent from the floor and 30 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. The 5-foot-6 guard averaged 2.14 made 3-pointers per game, trailing Rider's Makayla Firebaugh for first (2.21). Haskell also converted a MAAC-best 87.2 percent of her free throw attempts (82-of-94).

Lexa was named to the All-MAAC Rookie Team – one of two unanimous selections, joining Niagara's Aaliyah Parker. The Thessaloniki, Greece, native averaged 8.3 points in 27 appearances with the Golden Griffins. She shot at a 42 percent clip for the season and made 32 percent of her 3-point shots.

The 5-foot-9 guard is the first Canisius player to earn All-Rookie Team honors since Danielle Sanderlin during the 2017-18 season.

Canisius, the No. 11 seed in the MAAC Women's Basketball Championships, will face the No. 6 seed, Monmouth, on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. Game action will be broadcast on ESPN+.
