Five Things to Know:

1) Opening Draw
The Canisius women's lacrosse team is back in action on Saturday for a road tilt against Robert Morris in Moon Township, Pa. The Golden Griffins are coming off a season-opening 14-12 win over Bucknell last Saturday afternoon. The Colonials were defeated in their season-opener, as they fell to Ohio State by a score of 17-5.

2) Against the Colonials
Canisius and Robert Morris will meet for the 11th time in a matchup that began in 2005. The Griffs hold a 9-1 advantage in the all-time series.

In the last meeting between the teams on Feb. 20, 2019, Jourdan Roemer scored with three seconds remaining to send the game to overtime. The Colonials came out on top, 11-10, to secure their first win against Canisius in program history.

3) A Pair of Weekly Awards
A pair of Canisius seniors picked up MAAC weekly honors, the conference office announced on Monday. Skylar McArthur was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Shannon Maroney was selected as the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week.

McArthur enjoyed a career day against Bucknell, scoring a personal-best five goals and dishing out one assist for six points in the Canisius win. The Peterborough, Ontario, native also added a career-high three draw controls.

Maroney, a product of Rocky Point, N.Y., helped secure the victory against the Bison with seven saves and two groundballs. It was the seventh time in her collegiate career that she has posted seven or more saves in a contest.

4) You'll Always Remember Your First
Freshman Sarah Kilburn registered the first goal of her collegiate career on Saturday with a free-position shot late in the third quarter.

Under a minute later, sophomore Caroline Netti scored her first collegiate goal. Netti added another goal in the fourth quarter, which was the game-winner. She finished the game with two goals, two groundballs and one caused turnover.

5) A Balanced Scoring Attack
In the season-opener against Bucknell, seven different Griffs found the scoresheet and four players recorded multi-goal games to provide a balanced scoring attack for Canisius.

McArthur opened the scoring for the Griffs late in the first quarter, before Canisius found its rhythm in the second with Megan Hoffman, McArthur, Riley Davis and Paige Stachura all finding the back of the net.

McArthur added her third goal of the game early in the third quarter on a free-position shot. Katie Smolensky, Kilburn and Netti netted a trio of goals to give Canisius a 9-8 lead heading into the fourth.

Stachura scored her second goal of the game less than a minute into the final frame, while McArthur secured her fourth and fifth goals shortly after. Netti and Davis closed out the scoring for the Griffs.

Junior Kaitlyn Salce led Canisius with a career-best two assists on the day.
