FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

1. Opening Tip
The Canisius women's basketball team continues its four-game road swing this afternoon when the Griffs play Rider at Alumni Gym in Lawrenceville, N.J. Tipoff between the Golden Griffins and Broncs is scheduled for 2 p.m.

2. Last Time Out
Sophomore Dani Haskell scored 19 of her game-high 21 points in the second half of Thursday's 86-62 loss at Manhattan. Haskell also added five assists to her stat line, while freshman Athina Lexa netted 14 points and junior Shaunae Brown and senior Erika Joseph chipped in 10 points apiece.

Manhattan shot 55 percent from the floor as four Jaspers recorded a double-digit point total, highlighted by Courtney Warley's 19 points and eight rebounds. Brazil Harvey-Carr added 18 points, while Dee Dee Davis chipped in 16 points and Jade Blagrove had 12 points and eight rebounds.

3. Series History
Canisius and Rider will meet for the 50th time this afternoon. The Griffs own a 33-16 advantage in the series, including a 16-8 mark in Lawrenceville.

Rider has won nine of the last 12 in the series, which includes seven of the last eight.

The Broncs were victorious in the previous meeting earlier this year in Buffalo on Jan. 13, 59-51. Canisius trailed by as much as 13 early in the fourth quarter, but its comeback attempt fell short. Freshman Rhay Porter recorded 15 rebounds in the defeat.

4. It's Raining Threes!
Canisius made 13 3-pointers in Thursday's loss at Manhattan, marking the seventh time this year that the Griffs have converted at least 10 shots from beyond the arc.

The seven games with a double-digit 3-point total are tied for the most in program history since the NCAA implemented the 3-point line before the 1986-87 season.

This year's squad matched the 2008-09 team, who previously established the benchmark of seven over 33 games.

5. No Sophomore Slump
Haskell has had the polar opposite of a sophomore slump this season. Haskell currently has the 10th-most points by a second-year player in Canisius' Division I era. She is one point away from tying Megan Lyte for 9th place, three points away from tying Becky Zak for 8th place and 11 away from tying Anne Brocker for 7th place.

The Franklinville, N.Y., native has also made 55 3-pointers this season, ranking as the fifth-most by a sophomore in the Division I era. Heather Fiore currently has the record with 76, while Jen Morabito (65), Amanda Cavo (64) and Cheri Wittlieb (62) round out those ahead of Haskell.
