Men’s Soccer Drops Saturday Contest at Quinnipiac

Box Score Brage Aasen tallied both goals to pace Quinnipiac to a 2-0 victory over Canisius Saturday afternoon in collegiate men's soccer action from the Quinnipiac Soccer & Lacrosse Stadium.

With the win, the Bobcats move to 11-3-3 (6-1-2) on the season while the Golden Griffins slide to 1-9-6 (0-6-3).

Aasen opened the scoring in the 11th minute of the match, receiving a pass from David Bercedo to put one past Canisius graduate keeper William Howard.

Aasen doubled his goal total in the contest at the 61:24 mark of the second half. On the tally, Bercedo picked up his second helper of the match.


Game Notes

• Canisius held a 6-1 edge on corner kicks in the match.
• Howard made six stops in the loss, setting a career high with 83 saves on the season.
• Freshman Daniel Longo has recorded a shot on goal in five of the last six matches.

• Canisius concludes the 2022-23 regular season with a midweek match against Rider on Nov. 2. Kickoff from Ben Cohen Field in Lawrenceville, N.J. is scheduled for 4 p.m. The match will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
