Chard-Peloquin, LaMora Ink NLIs with Women’s Basketball

Chloe Chard-Peloquin (Johnstown, Ohio) and Adrien LaMora (Philadelphia, N.Y.) have each signed their National Letters of Intent with the Canisius women's basketball program.

"We are thrilled to welcome Adrien and Chloe to our Griff women's basketball family as our very first class of 2026," Canisius head coach Sahar Nusseibeh said. "These two young women embody our program standard of 'Feet In. Arms Out. Eyes Up.' They are completely bought into our vision of what we are building and we are so grateful to have them joining us. These two will help elevate our program from Day one with their talent, athleticism and compete level."

Chard-Peloquin, a 6-foot-3 forward, will join Canisius after completing her upcoming senior season at Newark Catholic in Newark, Ohio.

A four-year varsity starter, Chard-Peloquin was named Second Team All-Ohio and First Team All-Region after posting 14 points and 13 rebounds per contest for the Green Wave in an 18-2 season, who reached the Region 15 semifinal. Chard-Peloquin is currently the top-ranked power forward in central Ohio.

"Chloe showed her belief in what we are building here at Canisius almost immediately, putting her trust in our vision," Nusseibeh said. "Chloe will immediately add length, speed and athleticism on the basketball court. Her ability to shoot as well as drive and finish around the rim will add immediate value, not to mention her length on the defensive end."

LaMora, a 5-foot-11 point forward, will arrive on Main Street after completing her prep career at Indian River High in northern New York.

Already a five-year varsity player, LaMora averaged a double-double in each of the last two seasons for the Warriors. In just seven games during the 2020-21 season, LaMora averaged 23.3 points and 13.4 rebounds per game, earning Times All-North First Team honors. So far in her scholastic career at Indian River, she has averaged 13.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest.

LaMora was honored by the New York State Sportswriters Association (NYSSWA) following the 2019-20 season, garnering an honorable mention for Class A.

"Adrien is a young woman who knows what she wants and, thankfully, she wanted to be a part of what we are building as a women's basketball program," Nusseibeh stated. "Adrien brings tremendous versatility and basketball savvy to the hardwood. Her ability to play multiple positions with her multi-faceted skill set, as well as her guard-like passing game will make her a match-up nightmare. She will be able to fill several roles on both sides of the basketball."

Canisius closes out its non-conference schedule when it travels to the Capital Region to face UAlbany on Dec. 15. Tipoff from the SEFCU Arena is set for 7 p.m. Game action came be viewed on ESPN+.
