"Come Together" Campaign Hits The Home Stretch

With a little more than three weeks left, the Canisius athletics "Come Together" fall fundraising campaign is still working toward its goal of supporting the College's 20 varsity programs and the school's 400 student-athletes.

As of the end of business on Dec. 8, the "Come Together" fundraising campaign has raised $155,010 thanks to the generous support of more than 1,000 donors. The fundraising campaign is scheduled to run through Dec. 31, 2020. Five programs have already reached their fall fundraising goal, and four other varsity teams are more than halfway to their team fundraising goals.

Canisius launched its "Come Together" campaign on Oct. 15, in an effort to continue to provide the highest-quality experience for its student-athletes. The COVID-19 Pandemic has caused significant economic and budgetary challenges to all levels of collegiate athletics. The Canisius athletic department is incurring new expenses with the implementation of new health and safety protocols, while seeing important revenue streams - including ticket sales, sponsorships and distributions from the NCAA - being greatly reduced.

At the same time, the traditional day-to-day expense of operating a successful Division I college athletic department are rising. The fall fundraising campaign is a call to the Canisius community to "Come Together" to support their favorite Golden Griffin program.
