Men’s Soccer to Host Youth Camp, ID Clinic in July

The Canisius men's soccer program will host both a youth soccer camp and a summer ID clinic during the month of July, head coach Dermot McGrane announced Thursday.

The youth camp, open to boys and girls ages 7-16, will be held July 15-19 on the Canisius campus. The week-long camp is designed for players of all skill levels and will be broken into half-day (9 a.m.-Noon) and full-day (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.) sessions.

The ID clinic, open to boys ages 14-18, will take place July 20 at Canisius. The clinic is designed to give prospective student-athletes a glimpse into what it is like to be a soccer player at the Division I level.

Enrollment for the ID clinic is limited to 70 attendees (64 field players, 6 goalkeepers).

"We have come to rely heavily on our ID camps and clinics in the recruiting process," McGrane said. "It is a great opportunity for our staff to get to know players both on the field and off and we look forward to working with some talented young men once again this summer to identify some future Golden Griffin soccer players."
