Five Things to Know Before Men's Lacrosse Faces Quinnipiac in the Second Half of a Men's and Women's Lacrosse Doubleheader Saturday at the Demske Sports Complex

1) Lacrosse Doubleheader at the Demske
• The Canisius men's lacrosse team hosts Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Quinnipiac in the second half of a men's and women's lacrosse doubleheader Saturday at the Demske Sports Complex. The Canisius women kickoff the twinbill with a Noon matchup against league-foe Iona. The start of the contest between the Golden Griffins and Bobcats will take play one hour after the conclusion of the women's contest.

2) Senior Day
• Canisius will honor its senior class in a pregame ceremony prior to the start of Saturday's contest as Mario Caito Holden Garlent, Trevor Hamm, Logan Monroe and Michael Sanzone will all be honored for their contributions to the men's lacrosse program. Together, the group has combined to help lead the Griffs to 22 victories, highlighted by consecutive MAAC Championship appearances and the program's third MAAC Championship title in 2018.

3) MAAC Championship Rematch
• Saturday's contest serves as a rematch of last season's thrilling MAAC Championship semifinal contest between Canisius and Quinnipiac that saw the fourth-seeded Griffs post an 11-10 overtime victory over the top-seeded Bobcats. Graduated senior Steven Coss authored the game-winning goal in overtime while current junior Carter Stefaniak notched the game-tying goal with 12 seconds remaining in regulation. MAAC Preseason Player of the Year Foster Cuomo finished with two goals and an assist for Quinnipiac.

4) Top Goaltender Matchup
• Two of the top goaltenders in the MAAC will take part in Saturday's contest as Quinnipiac's Nick DiMuccio leads the league with a 14.11 saves per game average while Canisius' Brad Nordstrom ranks third in that category with 12.60 stops per contest. DiMuccio has tallied double-digit saves in eight of nine games played while Nordstrom has finished with 10 or more saves in eight of his 10 appearances to date.

5) Boissonneault Coming up Big for the Griffs
• Not only has junior Mathieu Boissonneault provided plenty of offense for Canisius with his team-high 22 goals this season, he has proven to be a timely goal scorer, as the attacker has recorded the game-winning goal in four of the Griffs' five victories in 2019. The only contest that Canisius has won this season that Boissonneault was not responsible for the game-winning goal was versus Robert Morris, a game he missed due to injury.
