Fridge Selected by FireWolves in NLL Draft

Former Canisius midfielder Jaxon Fridge was selected by The FireWolves in the third round (36th overall) of the 2025 National Lacrosse League Draft on Saturday.

A native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Fridge is the 18th Golden Griffin to hear his name called in the NLL Draft since 2003. He is also the eighth Canisius player to be selected during head coach Mark Miyashita's nine-year tenure with the Griffs.

"This is an exciting day to have Jaxon become the next Griff to be drafted into the National Lacrosse League," Miyashita said. "He has worked hard for this opportunity throughout the years and I know that he is going to make a positive impact within The FireWolves locker room. Everyone in the program is excited to see him suit up this coming season and we look forward to having him represent the Blue & Gold at the highest level!"

A four-year member of the program, Fridge took part in 59 games during his time on Main Street, recording 26 goals and 42 assists for 68 points. Fridge enjoyed a breakout season during his senior campaign, earning the start in all 16 games and responding with career highs in goals (15), assists (21) and points (36). He led the team in assists, ranking sixth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in assists per game (1.31). Fridge was also tied for second on the squad in scoring and finished the season fifth on the squad in goals.
