Five Things to Know - Women's Lacrosse Welcomes No. 4/5 Northwestern to Western New York

GAME 3
Canisius (0-2) vs. Northwestern (3-1)
Date: Monday, Feb. 25
Time: 1 p.m.
Location: Victor, N.Y. | Pinnacle Athletic Campus
Series History: Northwestern leads, 2-0

1. Pinnacle Athletic Campus
• Monday afternoon's contest between Canisius and Northwestern has been moved to Pinnacle Athletic Campus, an indoor facility in Victor, N.Y. This will mark the first time ever the Griffs have played a regular-season game at Pinnacle.

2. Tough OT Loss to RMU
• Canisius dropped a back-and-forth game against NEC contender Robert Morris Wednesday afternoon. With rain and cold temperatures delaying the start of the game, Canisius had to battle back from an early 4-2 deficit to force overtime with the Colonials, as senior Jourdan Roemer scored the game-tying goal with just three seconds left in regulation. Robert Morris would prevail in the extra frame as it scored on its first possession to earn the victory.

3. Roemer and Reininger against the Colonials
• Roemer and teammate Jen Reininger paced the Canisius attack on Wednesday afternoon at Robert Morris, combining to score seven of Canisius 10 goals, while recording four points each. For the second straight game, Reininger found the back of the cage three times in the first half, while Roemer scored four goals for the Golden Griffins in the overtime loss.

4. Ranked Opponents
• No. 4/5 Northwestern is the second of three ranked teams Canisius will take on during the 2019 campaign. The first was Notre Dame, who was ranked 20th in the nation when the Griffs traveled to South Bend, Ind. The Griffs travel to take on defending champion James Madison next Friday, the Dukes are currently ranked ninth in the NCAA by Inside Lacrosse.

5. Rare February Home Game
• Even though Canisius won't be playing at the Demske Sports Complex, Monday's game counts as a home game for the Griffs. The Blue and Gold have played just three home games in the month of Feb. in the last 10 seasons, with the last one coming against Columbia on Feb. 25, 2017. Canisius is 1-2 in the month of Feb. when defending its home turf.
