Five Things to Know Before Canisius Takes on Albany
1. On the Road Again
• The Canisius men's basketball program returns to the road for the second-straight game to start the 2019-20 season on Wednesday when the Golden Griffins play at Albany. The Griffs opened the 116th season in school history Saturday with a 75-68 road loss to Brown. This marks the third time in the last four seasons where the Blue and Gold have played back-to-back road games to start the year.

2. Road Dogs
• Since the start of the 2016-17 season, Canisius has 27 true road wins, which ranks the Griffs tied for 10th among all Division I schools. Last year, Canisius won nine road games, the third-straight year where the program has won eight-or-more road contests in a season.

3. For Starters
• Malik Johnson became just the 10th player in school history to start 100-or-more career games as a Griffs' when his name was called in the starting line-up Saturday at Brown. Johnson, who has started every game for Canisius since the start of the 2016-17 season, ranks sixth in the nation among all Division I players with his 100 consecutive games started.

4. Johnson Drops 24 at Brown
• Senior Malik Johnson scored a career-high 24 points in the team's road loss
at Brown, his third career game with 20-or-more points scored. The Richmond, Va., native also added a team-high nine rebounds, five assists and four steals in 40 minutes against the Bears.

5. Two New Guys in the Starting Five
•
Freshmen Akrum Ahemed and Armon Harried were in the Griffs' starting line-up on Saturday at Brown, the second time in the last three season where the Blue and Gold started a pair of true freshmen on opening day. The last occasion came in 2017-18, when Jalanni White
and former Griff Takal Molson were in the team's starting line-up at Buffalo.
