Five Things to Know Before Canisius Plays at Rider
1. Griffs and Broncs Square Off for First Place
• Canisius takes its six-game winning streak to Rider on Sunday, as the top-two teams in the MAAC square off in Alumni Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. Both Canisius and Rider are atop the MAAC standings with identical 13-2 league records. The Griffs are coming off a 78-60 win at Monmouth on Friday, the program's first road win over the Hawks in four trips to the OceanFirst Bank Center. Rider, which has the third-longest win streak in the nation at nine games, is coming off a 97-71 route of Siena on Thursday.

2. Looking for 20
• Canisius' win over Monmouth Friday night moved the team to 19 wins on the season, besting last season's win total. The victory also gets the Blue and Gold one game away from a 20-win season, which Canisius has done eight times in the previous 113-year history of the program. The 2013-14 team is the last group to win 20-or more games, as that edition of the Griffs scored 21 victories.

3. Crumpton Gets Closer to 1,500
• Senior Jermaine Crumpton moved his streak of scoring 10-or more points to 24-straight games on Friday when he posted 15 points in the Griffs' road win at Monmouth. Those 15 points got him to 1,496 for his career, leaving him four points shy of becoming the eighth player in school history to score 1,500 points as a Griff. The last Canisius player to go past the 1,500-career point mark was Frank Turner, who accomplished that feat in 2009-10.

4. Buffalo Stealers
• Canisius sophomores Isaiah Reese and Malik Johnson combined for 11 of the Griffs' season-high 14 steals at Monmouth on Friday. Reese matched a career-high with six steals (he also had six steals at Manhattan Jan. 19), while Johnson earned a career-best five steals in the win over the Hawks. As a team, Canisius enters the game on Sunday ranked third in the MAAC with 6.7 stelas per contest. Reese has 66 steals to his credit this season, the seventh-most of any Division I player in the country.

5. Faulkner Adding Fire Off the Bench
• Canisius junior Jibreel Faulkner has made a strong impact for the Griffs after he missed the first 16 games of the season. Since rejoining the team's active roster, the Washington, D.C., native has been good for 6.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game, while shooting 50.9 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from 3-point land.
