1. Hinriksdottir's Weekly Awards Haul
• Senior Sara Hinriksdottir was named MAAC Player of the Week and Jesuit College Basketball National Player of the Week for her performances against Buffalo and Bowling Green. For the week, Hinriksdottir averaged 17.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, highlighted by her double-double against Bowling Green. In that game, the forward scored 18 points and grabbed a career-high 17 caroms. Against Buffalo, the Keflavik, Iceland, native tallied 16 points and 8 boards and dished out five assists.
 

2. Starting Five
• The Golden Griffins have started each of the last six games with a different group of five on the floor for the opening tip. Junior transfer, D'Jhai Petterson-Ricks has started in all six of those contests, followed by freshman Erika Joseph, who has been on the floor to start five of the six games. Canisius is 1-5 during the stretch.
 

3. Canisius vs. Ohio Schools
• This season the Blue and Gold have played an Ohio based school on three different occasions, all of which have come at home. In those contests, Canisius is averaging 49.3 points and 39.0 rebounds per game. From the floor, the Griffs are shooting just 29.5 percent (53-179), and 24.1 percent (15-62) on 3-point field goals.
 

4. Getting A Chance
• Joseph has gotten more opportunities to play throughout the last six games. The guard made her collegiate debut against Colgate, Nov. 21, and has started every game since. The Toronto, Ontario, product is averaging 2.3 points per game, with a 25.0 percent clip from the field. Defensively, she has recorded three blocks and stolen the ball twice.
 

5. Coming to a Close
• Canisius' non-conference schedule is in the home stretch as Sunday's contest against Akron is the second to last non-league game of the 2018-19 campaign. The Blue and Gold will host Vermont next Friday at 7 p.m. inside the Koessler Athletic Center in their final out of conference game before opening MAAC play Jan. 3 at 11 a.m. against Manhattan.
