LAST TIME OUT
• The Canisius women's basketball team had trouble finding answers against the Marist attack on Sunday, as the Red Foxes shot 47 percent from the field and 39 percent from beyond the arc, besting the Golden Griffins, 78-53 at the Koessler Athletic Center.  
• The Red Foxes offense was dialed in from the onset, outscoring the Blue and Gold 27-19 in the opening quarter, and the trend continued taking a 46-29 lead into halftime.
• Marist kept Canisius at arms length the remainder of the game as the Griffs were only able to get within 15 points of the lead before the Red Foxes distanced themselves once again.
• The Blue and Gold offense was led by Maria Welch who posted 11 points, and the secondary scoring was spread around as four different players tallied eight points apiece. 
Sara Hinriksdottir, Tiana Pugh, Anndea Zeigler and Danielle Sanderlin all tallied eight points in the game.
• The Blue and Gold offense was unable to match the accuracy of the Red Foxes, shooting just 29 percent from the field (18-of-62) and 15 percent from beyond the arc (3-of-20).
• The Griffs did manage to protect the basketball better than it had on Friday, giving it away just 10 times and forcing 11 Marist turnovers. The Red Foxes bested the Griffs on the glass, 44-35.

SCOUTING THE GRIFFS
• Hinriksdottir continues to be the team's most productive point producer, as she is averaging 14.0  points per game and 5.4 rebounds per contest.
Magret Halfdanardottir is next on the scoring list, posting 8.1 points per game.
• Welch is third on the Griffs' scoring list, averaging 8.0 points per contest.
• Canisius is averaging 55.2 points per game and is allowing 65.4
• The team is shooting 36.0 percent from the field, while opponents are limited to 38.7.
• As a team the Griffs have averaged 36.5 boards per game and opponents are taking down 40.7.
• The Griffs are averaging 17.0 turnovers per contest, while opponents are giving it away 14.1 times per game.

NOTING NIAGARA
• The Purple Eagles fell to MAAC-leading Quinnipiac 84-55 on Jan. 28 and come into the contest with an 8-13 mark and 5-5 conference record. 
• Niagara leads the MAAC in free throw percentage (77.6%), is second in field goal percentage (41.7%) and 3-point field goal percentage (32.0%) and is the third-highest scoring offense (66.2 points per game). The Purple Eagles are third in the MAAC in assists, averaging 14.6 assists per game.
• Victoria Rampado leads the league in scoring with 20.8 points per game and is second in rebounding with 9.4 rebounds per game. She has the third-best field goal percentage (48.8%).
• Jamie Sherburne leads the league in assists, averaging 4.7 assists per game. She is second in the conference in free throw percentage (86.2%).
• Maggie McIntyre is second in the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage (42.6%).
• Victoria Rampado's 41 points against Siena on Jan. 7 are the second-most points scored in a single game in NU women's basketball history and is tied for seventh most in MAAC history. It is the most points scored in the MAAC this season.

SERIES HISTORY VS. NIAGARA
• The Griffs come into the contest leading in the all-time series history 57-35.
• The Blue and Gold is coming off a three-game sweep of the Purple Eagles last season, defeating them twice in the regular season and winning a thrilling OT victory in the tournament last season. 
• Canisius holds a 25-14 advantage when playing at the KAC and a 26-16 advantage when playing up in Lewiston.
• The Blue and Gold and Niagara have faced each other nine times at neutral sites/MAAC Tournament games and Canisius owns a 6-3 lead.
• Canisius has been dominant in the last 10 against the Purple Eagles, holding an 8-2 record. 
• In that span Canisius is 4-0 at the KAC, 3-1 at Niagara and 1-1 in tournament action. 

BATTLE OF THE BRIDGE
• Canisius and Niagara enter another critical Battle of the Bridge match up with the Purple Eagles having secured the most recent points, by defeating men's basketball last Saturday. 
• The Blue and Gold look for its 10th win in 12 years as the Griffs are up 11-3 in the year-long competition. 
• The Battle of the Bridge is an all-sports competition between the schools. Points are awarded for all regular-season, conference match-ups, except for cross country, swimming and diving and golf where the points are awarded based on results in the MAAC Championship.
• Niagara's only wins came in the inaugural competition in 2006-07 and also won in 2009-10.
