Five Things to Know Before Canisius Plays Arkansas - Pine Bluff
1. Griffs Dig In to Defeat Texas State

• Canisius earned its second win of the season on Friday night when the Golden Griffins defeated Texas State 68-62 in the second game of the Men Against Breast Cancer Showcase. The Griffs shot 50 percent from the floor for the game, highlighted by a 68.2 percent effort from the floor after halftime. In the win, Canisius made just five 3-pointers, the fewest in a win since Dec. 23, 2009, and the 62 points allowed on Friday marks back-to-back games where Canisius has held its opponent under 65 points, the first time that has happened since the 2015-16 campaign.

2. Griffs Making Buckets
• Canisius' 50 percent
effort from the field in the win over Texas State Friday night was the second-highest team field goal percentage for the Blue and Gold this season after Canisius shot 62.3 percent from the floor in the 104-84 win over Youngstown State Nov. 18. Entering Saturday's game, Canisius is shooting 49.1 percent (135-for-275) from the field as a team, which leads the MAAC and ranks 61st in the nation.

3. California Love
• Canisius' win on Friday over Texas State in Stockton, Calif., stands as the program's first in the state of California. Canisius has only played in the nation's most populous state twice - the trip this weekend, and Dec. 22-23, 1989 when the team took part in the Met Life Classic in San Francisco.

4. Crumpton Keeps Scoring
• Canisius senior Jermaine Crumpton scored 14 points in the win over Texas State on Friday, his 55th career game with 10-or more points scored. In his 93 career games as a Griff, the Niagara Falls, N.Y., native has tallied 1,090 career points, which ties him with former Griffs guard Chuck Harris (2003-07) for 27th on the school's career scoring list.

5. A Look at UAPB
• Arkansas - Pine Bluff comes into Saturday's game with an 0-7 record, leaving the Golden Lions one of 21 Division I teams without a victory this season. UAPB, a member of the SWAC, is led by junior guard Martaveous McKnight, who is good for 17.6 points per game.
