Five Things to Know Before Canisius Plays Texas State
1. Griffs Start Busy Stretch Friday Night

• Canisius will start a three-game in three-day stretch Friday when the Golden Griffins take on Texas State in the Men Against Breast Cancer Showcase in Stockton, Calif. Canisius is 1-3 on the season after falling on the road to Tennessee State by the score of 60-52. Canisius is also scheduled to play Arkansas Pine Bluff and the host Pacific Tigers on their current trip to California, the program's first since 1989-90.

2. Season of Giving
• Canisius starts Friday's game leading the MAAC, averaging 17.5 assists per gam
e this season. In the game at Tennessee State, the Blue and Gold was credited with 15 assists on 20 made field goals, led by sophomore Malik Johnson, who had a team-high six. Johnson ranks third in the MAAC with his 5.5 assists per game.

3. Reese in Rare Company
• Canisius sophomore Isaiah Reese, the reigning MAAC Player of the Week, had 16 points and eight rebounds in the team's loss at Tennessee State Nov. 21. The Miami, Fla., native is currently the only player in the conference to rank among the league's top-10 in scoring, rebounding and assists per game average.

4. Foley Hitting on High Percentage
• Sophomore guard Spencer Foley went 2-for-2 from 3-point land at Tennessee State, extending his streak of hitting multiple 3-point field goals to three-straight games. He leads the Griffs in 3-point shooting percentage at 61.1 percent (11-for-18), which also leads the MAAC and ranks ninth nationally among all players with 2.5 treys per game this season.

5. Canisius' In-Season Tournament History
• Friday's game against Texas State will be Canisius' second contest in the Men Against Breast Cancer Showcase event. The Griffs lost their first game in the tournament Nov. 14 at Air Force. This event marks the 53rd time in program history where the Blue and Gold have taken part in an in-season tournament. The last time Canisius played in the state of California was an in-season tournament as well, as the Griffs played a pair of games Dec. 22 and 23, 1989 in the Met Life Classic, which was hosted by the University of San Francisco.
