Rowing Signs Two to NLIs

The Canisius rowing program has signed two to National Letters-of-Intent, head coach Kerri Brace announced Wednesday.

Joining the Griffs next year will be Allyson Matrassi and Emma Sabio. The two incoming freshmen come from four hours away in Lathham, N.Y., and just down Main Street in Buffalo.

"Emma and Ally will be tremendous additions to the Griffs Rowing family. Both young women bring a wealth of racing experience, not only at the New York State level, but at the national and North American level as well," Brace said. "Both have rowed under extremely talented coaches and know what it takes to compete at a high level. Their enthusiasm for the sport of rowing and for Canisius College will certainly help us on our quest to become a top-tier program in the MAAC."
