All this week, Canisius will introduce the four male nominees for the 2015-16 Rookie of the Year Award. After all four candidates for this award are posted on Monday and Tuesday, fans will have the chance to vote on who they think will win the award in an online poll which will run on GoGriffs.com through Wednesday evening. The 2015-16 Canisius Male Rookie of the Year will be officially introduced Thursday, June 16 at noon.

Nolan Hunt – baseball
Canisius freshman Nolan Hunt is the fourth nominee for the 2015-16 Canisius Male Rookie of the Year award. A native of Westfield, N.Y., Hunt was tied for third on the Golden Griffins' pitching staff with five wins on the hill in his rookie campaign.

Stats and Awards
• Hunt appeared in 17 games, making eight starts. He threw in 62 innings and held opponents to a MAAC-low .199 batting average.
• He ended his first year in Blue and Gold with a 5-0 record to go with a 2.90 ERA and 32 strikeouts.
• His 2.90 ERA ranked third-best among MAAC pitchers, and he led the league in fewest runs allowed, yielding just 21 in his 17 appearances on the hill.
• Hunt earned his first career win March 30 when the Griffs defeated West Virginia by the score of 9-0 on the road. In that start, he tossed four scoreless innings and allowed one hit while fanning one to complete the team's sweep of the Mountaineers.
