Rowing Recognized by CRCA

The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced the scholar-athletes for the 2015 season and six members of the Canisius College Golden Griffins Rowing Team were recognized by the Association.

Hannah Blum (Education), Chanel Davis (Animal Behavior, Ecology & Conservation), Elizabeth Reinwald (Management), Jordan Szustak (Management), Kaitlyn Taylor (Biology) and Kira Voyer (Biology) were all recognized for their performances in the classroom.

In order to be eligible for the scholar-athlete team a student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules defined by her institution, the student-athlete was in her 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of eligibility, the athlete rowed in her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference event and the student must have had a 3.5 GPA or higher for her career.

The Griffs ended their season at the MAAC Championship on May 17 and the Griffs Varsity-Four boat claimed the team's first MAAC Championship in program history. Overall the team finished in fourth place in the conference.
