The Griffs (18-14) advanced to the quarterfinal round following an 82-59 win at Bowling Green March 21. The 23-point victory stands as the program's largest postseason victory in school history. The other three quarterfinal games will be played March 25-27, starting in Richmond, Ky., when Eastern Kentucky (21-11) hosts UT-Martin (20-12) March 25. On March 26, UL-Lafayette (22-13) will play host to Evansville (21-12) and March 27 features Northern Arizona (21-14) playing host to Kent State (23-11). The tournament semifinal games will be played March 31 and the CIT championship game will be played April 2. The semifinal and championship rounds will be televised live on CBS Sports Network.

In two CIT games this season, Canisius is averaging 84.5 points per game while holding Dartmouth and Bowling Green to an average of 65.5 points per game. The 59-points allowed to Bowling Green March 21 marks the 17th time this season the Griffs have held their opponents to 60-points or less in a game, which is the most for the program since the 1996-97 season.
