Senior goaltender for the Canisius College women's soccer team, Kailee DeFranks, has been named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week after posting a 10 save shutout victory in the final game of her career.
The Golden Griffins upset the Rider Broncs this past Wednesday 2-0 giving DeFranks her sixth victory of the year. The senior made three saves in the first half of play to go along with seven more stops in the games final 45 minutes.
In her first season as the full-time goalkeeper for the blue and gold, DeFranks recorded five shutouts to go along with a MAAC leading 118 saves.
DeFranks finished the year with a two game win streak and a 4-3-1 home record at the Demske Sports Complex.
