Men's Soccer Hosts Manhattan on Senior Night

The Canisius College men's soccer team looks to finish the 2015 regular-season in style with a home game against Manhattan on Saturday night. The Griffs, winners of four-straight games, welcome the Jaspers to the Demske Sports Complex for Senior Night for a 7 p.m. start. The game can be seen live on ESPN3.

SENIOR NIGHT
• Prior to Saturday's game, the Griffs will honor six seniors who are playing in their final regular-season home game.
Eric Ashley, Nicoló Baudo, Chris Berardi, Andrew Coughlin, Alex De Carolis and Ryan Schroen are all set to play in their final game at the Demkse Sports Complex.
• The six players have combined to appear in 302 games during their career, totaling 77 points, 25 goals, 27 assists and 132 saves during their Canisius tenure.
• The class is also the winningest in the program's history, accumulating 31 victories so far during their four years.

WINNING!
• The Griffs are playing their best soccer at the right time of the year.
• Canisius has won four-straight MAAC games for the first time in the program's history. The winning streak is also just one shy of the team's overall record of five, set during the 2012 and 2014 seasons.
• In the first five games of the conference season, Canisius averaged only 0.40 goals per game, while allowing 1.60 tallies. During the team's four-game winning streak, the Griffs are outscoring teams by an average of 2.50 to 0.75.

MAAC TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS
• With the final gameday of the regular season set for Saturday, teams are battling for playoff positioning.
• The Griffs – currently in seventh place – can finish anywhere from fifth to ninth for the final parings. Canisius is two points of sixth-place Fairfield and three points behind fifth-place Siena right now. The Griffs also have a two-point lead over Saturday's opponent, Manhattan.
• Among teams that Canisius can finish tied with in the final regular-season standings, the Griffs own the tiebreaker against Saint Peter's, while losing versus Fairfield and Siena. A three-way tie with Saint Peter's and Siena will not be able to be determined until all teams have completed play on Saturday.
• The MAAC Tournament is set to begin on Thursday at the Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. The championship game is slated for Monday.

CANISIUS – MANHATTAN SERIES HISTORY
• The Jaspers hold a slight edge in the all-time series, 11-10-3.
• Last season, the Griffs posted a 1-0 victory at Manhattan behind 70th-minute goal from A.C. La Flore.
• It marked the first win in the series for the Griffs since 2010 as the schools played to a 0-0 draw in 2013, did not play in 2012 due to Hurricane Sandy and the Jaspers earned a 3-2 win 2011.

ABOUT THE JASPERS
• Manhattan is 3-9-2 on the season and 3-5-1 in MAAC play, currently sitting in ninth place in the league standings.
• The Jaspers are coming off a 2-2 tie with second-place Iona on Wednesday.
• Alex Shackley leads Manhattan with eight points and four goals. The team's second-leading scorer, Niels Kirch (3g), will not play on Saturday due to a red card on Wednesday.
• R.J. Noll has seen a majority of time in goal for the Jaspers, posting a 1.31 goals against average and .698 save percentage.
