QUICK HITTERS

  • Canisius starts a four-game road stretch, starting at Saint Peter's on Friday.
  • Canisius defeated Saint Peter's 60-56 in the first meeting between the teams, which came on Jan. 4, in the Koessler Athletic Center.
  • Canisius has won the last three meetings with Saint Peter's while the Peahens have won the last three meetings between the teams in the Yanitelli Center.
  • Canisius has had four players named MAAC Rookie of the Week in the same season (Courtney VandeBovenkamp, Jen Morabito, Jen Lennox and Jamie Ruttle) for the first time in program history and for the first time in league history. Canisius freshmen have won seven of a possible 11 weekly awards this season.

  • Senior Micayla Drysdale is the MAAC's active leader in 3-point field goals (169) and is second in program history in 3-point field goal percentage (37.4). 
  • Sophomore Ashley Durham leads Canisius in scoring (10.4), ranking 15th in the MAAC. In conference play, Durham is seventh in 3-point field goal percentage (34.9).  
  • Friday's game is a Jesuit Basketball Spotlight game, which is a nationwide effort to capitalize on basketball games between Jesuit schools and, through those games, bring greater positive awareness and exposure to Jesuit education and its shared mission.
  • Canisius holds the NCAA Division I record for consecutive games with a made 3-pointer, having made a 3-pointer in 506 consecutive games.

SCOUTING THE GRIFFS

  • Senior Micayla Drysdale ranks second in the Canisius career record books in 3-point field goal percentage at 37.4 percent. Drysdale has made two or more 3-pointers in 52 games in her career.
  • The Binbrook, Ontario native ranks fifth in program history with 169 career 3-point field goals and is also the MAAC's active leader in the category.
  • Drysdale has a 1.27 assist-turnover ratio in 63 career MAAC games.
  • Sophomore Ashley Durham leads the Griffs in scoring (10.4), ranking 15th in the conference. Durham ranks seventh in assists per game (2.8) and has six assists in two of the last three games.
  • Durham has at least one steal in six of the last eight games, at least four rebounds in each of the last eight games, setting a career high in rebounds in two of the last three games.
  • In MAAC play, Durham is seventh in 3-point field goal percentage (34.9) and tied for seventh in 3-point field goals made (1.5).
  • Freshman Jamie Ruttle, a two-time MAAC Rookie of the Week, is tied for 14th in the MAAC in scoring (10.8) in conference games and has led Canisius in scoring in three of the last four games.
  • On the season, Ruttle leads MAAC freshmen in scoring (9.2) and is third in rebounding (4.7), averaging 6.5 rebounds in the last four games.
  • Junior Steph MacDonald is shooting 48.9 percent on two-point shots in MAAC play this season and 54.5 percent inside the arc in her career against conference opponents. 
  • MacDonald has at least one steal in 16 of 21 games, three or more assists in seven games, seven or more rebounds in six games and 27 offensive rebounds in the last 12 games.
  • Freshman Courtney VandeBovenkamp, a two-time MAAC Rookie of the Week, has five or more rebounds in 10 games on the season and is averaging 5.6 rebounds in the last 13 games.
  • VandeBovenkamp ranks second among MAAC freshmen in rebounding (4.9).
  • Freshman Jen Morabito, a two-time MAAC Rookie of the Week, ranks second among MAAC freshmen in scoring at 8.9 points per game and first in 3-pointers made (33).
  • Morabito ranks fourth in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (39.3), making at least one 3-pointer in 15 of 17 games and multiple 3-pointers in nine games overall.
  • Freshman Jen Lennox, one of two Griffs to play in all 21 games this season, has six or more rebounds in four games.

  • Sophomore Allison Braun has appeared in 19 games, making three starts. Braun had season highs with six points, four rebounds and 26 minutes against UMES.
  • Sophomore Melissa Gardner has made seven starts on the season and is averaging 9.8 rebounds per 40 minutes. 
  • Senior Tauralee Tenn has played 98 minutes in her last eight appearances after playing 50 minutes in the first seven games of the season combined.
  • Senior Caitlin Krull is averaging 9.8 rebounds per 40 minutes and has 12 rebounds in 47 minutes during the last five games.

SAINT PETER'S SCOUT

  • Saint Peter's enters Friday's game with a 3-18 overall record and 3-7 record in the MAAC.
  • The Peahens have lost three straight after winning two of three.
  • Saint Peter's is 2-2 in the Yanitelli Center this season in conference play.
  • Junior Jynae Judson leads the team at 12.7 points per game, ranking sixth in the MAAC. Judson also ranks fifth in the conference in rebounding (7.3). 
  • Nine Peahens have recorded a start on the season with 10 players averaging double-digit minutes a game.
  • Aziza May is third in the MAAC in assists per game (3.3) while Jessica Coles is tied for third in blocks per game (1.4). 
  • In MAAC play, Saint Peter's ranks seventh in scoring margin, third in free-throw percentage, first in 3-point field goal percentage defense, first in offensive rebounding percentage, eighth in defensive rebounding percentage.
  • Stephanie DeWolfe is in her seventh season at Saint Peter's and has a 82-114 career record. DeWolfe is a 1997 graduate of Saint Peter's and has been associated with the program for 16 seasons.

SERIES HISTORY VS. SAINT PETER'S

  • Canisius and Saint Peter's are meeting for the 47th time, with the Peahens holding a 27-19 lead in the all-time series.
  • The teams have split the regular-season series in each of the last three seasons, but Canisius has won 10 of the last 14 meetings overall.
  • Canisius has lost its last three games in the Yanitelli Center, dating back to a 71-61 win on Jan. 8, 2007. 

RECAP OF LAST MEETINGS

  • Canisius built a 16-point halftime lead and held on for the 60-56 win on Jan. 4 in the Koessler Athletic Center.
