Canisius
College women's lacrosse head coach Scott
Teeter announced the addition of four players to the 2012 team. Meghan Cuddy, Casey Depauw, Tori Quinn and Natalie Wagaman have
all signed National Letters of Intent to join the Canisius program, beginning
in the 2012 season.
"This
year's class will be key ingredients to our future success," Teeter said. "They
each bring a different dynamic to our program and we look forward to the next
four years with them."
A
three-year letterwinner at C.W. Baker High School, Cuddy earned second-team
All-CNYCL accolades in 2010 and received honorable mention to the team in 2009.
She also helped the Bees win the league championship during her junior season.
"Meghan
is a great two-way player," Teeter said. "Her speed will be an asset to our
midfield. She comes from a great program and was very well-coached in high
school."
Depauw
played four seasons at Canandaigua Academy on defense, helping her squad to the
2010 sectional title. A scholar athlete award winner, Depauw was also a member
of the 2010 Western New York Team that competed at the Empire State Games.
"Casey
adds height to our defense," Teeter said. "She has played at a high-level of
lacrosse and uses her basketball defensive skills to her advantage."
Quinn
is a team captain at Orangeville District Secondary School, leading the team to
three Provincial High School Championships. The midfielder is also a member of
the Canadian U-19 National Team and has played for the Orangeville club team
since 2002. Quinn's sister, Carly, is entering her senior season with the
Griffs in 2011.
"Tori
is a great two-way player that leaves everything she has on the field," Teeter
said. "She is a member of the Canadian U-19 National Team and will use those
experiences to quickly adjust to the Division I level."
Wagaman
is a two-time letterwinner at Penn Yan Academy. She received honorable mention
to the all-league team and is also a member of the Relentless Hustle Elite
Club.
"Natalie
brings great vision to our attack," Teeter said. "She is a two-sport athlete
and a true competitor who always plays at the highest level."
The
Griffs return 18 letterwinners and seven starters from the 2010 team that
finished second in the MAAC and earned their third-straight trip to the
conference tournament for the first time in the program's history.
