Daley, who entered the game ranked first in the MAAC and 11th nationally with 10.27 saves per game, anchored the Canisius defense to the victory. Her 20 saves top her own school record of 19, which she set against Syracuse in 2008.

"Allison played really strong today," said Canisius head coach Scott Teeter. "She kept us in the game when we needed her. She made some point-blank saves and she was really on her game today."

Junior Ashley Curtis led the Canisius attack with four points on the afternoon, scoring two goals and adding a pair of assists. Senior Marissa Brown netted her first hat trick of the season with three scores, while freshman Lindsey Morgan scored a career-best two goals. Junior Carly Quinn and sophomore Megan Oosting each registered two points on a goal and an assist, while senior Brett Poissant and junior Taylor Gray rounded out the scoring for Canisius with a goal apiece.

Poissant also collected three draw controls on the afternoon, raising her career total to a school-record 131. She passed former teammate Chelsea Martinez for first in the program's history. Martinez recorded 130 draw controls from 2005 to 2008.

Siena opened the scoring when Erin Harper netted an unassisted goal 2:22 into the contest. Canisius responded with a 5-1 stretch during a 124-second span to claim a lead it would not relinquish. Brown opened the run with her first goal of the afternoon and after a Siena score, Morgan retied the game with her first tally of the day. Curtis gave the Griffs the lead with a free-position goal and was followed by Oosting and Quinn for the 5-2 advantage.

Siena ended a 10-minute drought but Morgan answered right back for Canisius to grab a 6-3 intermission lead. Daley stopped 9-of-12 shots on goal in the half to help give the Griffs the three-goal advantage after one.

Daley and the Griffs continued to play strong in the second stanza. The junior goaltender allowed only two scores in the first 28 minutes of the half as Canisius added to its lead with five goals of its own. After the teams traded a pair of goals to start the period, the Griffs put the game out of reach with three-straight tallies. Gray, Poissant and Brown each netted a goal to extend the Canisius lead to six, 11-5. Daley set the program's single-game record by stopping a shot with 1:14 left in the contest.

"We are playing a lot better right now," Teeter said. "We're moving forward and we played as close to a full 60 minutes for the first time this season. We are moving in the right direction and it was great to see Brett and Allison get rewarded for all their hard work."

On the afternoon, the Saints held a 33-29 advantage in shots and a 12-9 edge in draw controls. Siena was led by Allie Kain, who scored three goals, and Kristin Concordia, who stopped 13 shots in net.

Canisius is back in action on Tuesday, hosting Battle of the Bridge rival Niagara. Game time at the Demske Sports Complex is set for 7 p.m.

Game Notes: Daley's 20 saves are tied for the eighth most in the country this season ... Poissant also ranks sixth in school history with 58 career goals and seventh with 78 career points ... Canisius' victory ended a five-game winning streak in the series for the home team ... The Griffs improved to 2-4 all-time at Siena, winning in Loudonville for the first time since 2001.
