Freshman Brianna Smith earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors after recording a goal against nationally-ranked Siena on Friday and then registering an assist on the Griffs' lone goal on Sunday in a home loss to Marist.

Smith has been one of the Griffs most potent offensive threats for the Blue and Gold as she is tied for the team-lead in goals (8) and second on the team in points (20). Smith also has proved herself to be dependable, as she has tallied two game-winning goals. Her name is also frequently found at the top of the MAAC statistic leader boards as she is currently tied for third in points and second in goals. This is the second time this season that the conference has recognized Smith with the league's Rookie of the Week honor.   

Smith and her Golden Griffin teammates will be back in action on Friday Oct. 22, when the squad travels to take on Fairfield in a MAAC match-up. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
