Canisius College Director of Athletics Bill Maher announced today that senior center Chris Gadley has been released from his scholarship and will not participate with the team in 2010. 

Gadley, who has not practiced with the team or played in a game this year, averaged 7.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game last season in 24 games played. Gadley sat out the 2007-08 season after transferring from Hofstra University, where he played his freshman and sophomore campaigns.

The Golden Griffins are 6-6 on the year after taking two of three games in the Southern Miss Christmas Classic last week. Canisius is coming off a 63-48 win against New Orleans Dec. 23, and will return to Dec. 30, when the team meets long-time rival St. Bonaventure in Olean, N.Y.
