Men's Basketball Canisius College Athletics

Fans Can Now Send Brian Dux Well-Wishes Via E-mail

Fans wanting to send get-well wishes to former Canisius basketball player Brian Dux can do so by sending an e-mail to Wishes4Dux@yahoo.com. The former Golden Griffin guard was seriously injured in a car accident Nov. 10, in England, where Dux is a member of the Guildford Heat of the British Basketball League.

Dux is currently hospitalized in England, where he was moved from intensive care to a high-dependency trauma unit. He is mostly unconscious but has recently responded to commands from doctors and is showing other signs of improvement.
When he played at Canisius, the Orchard Park, N.Y., native was a two-time All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference honoree and was twice named to the MAAC All-Tournament Team. He finished his career as just the second player in school history to score 1,000-plus points and dish out 500 assists in his time in Blue and Gold, and he currently sits 14th on the school's all-time scoring list (1,239 points) and second in career assists with 508. He is also one of 12 players in the 104-year history of the program to play in more than 115 career games.

Prior to the start of Tuesday's game at cross-town rival Buffalo, players, coaches and support staff from both teams signed a banner and took a group photo at mid court. Both items will be sent to Brian this week.
