Men's Basketball Finishes Season With Road Swing

Tonight's Game

Canisius finishes the regular season with a two-game road swing, beginning with a contest at Manhattan. The Golden Griffins are 4-3 in their last seven and are coming off a 92-83 home win over Loyola Sunday. Canisius is 2-10 away from home this season, including 2-5 in conference road games. Manhattan is 3-1 in its last four but is coming off a 78-66 loss at George Mason in an ESPN Bracketbuster game last Saturday. The Jaspers have won three straight conference games, all of which came at home. Manhattan is 10-2 at home, including 7-1 in home MAAC games.

27-38, 2004-05: 0-1, MAAC Tourney: 1-0, Streak: L-6, Began: 1909-10 Canisius trails the all-time series 38-27 and has lost the last six and eight of the last 10. The Griffs are 12-19 against Manhattan since joining the league in 1989-90 and 5-10 with Mike MacDonald at the helm. The Jaspers have won the last three games against Canisius in the Koessler Center. The Griffs have lost seven straight games at Draddy Gymnasium by an average of 19.2 points a game. Canisius' last win at Manhattan was a 63-44 victory in 1998. CJ Anderson posted 25 points and 16 boards in an 86-77 Jasper win Jan. 20. Jon Popofski led Canisius with 23 points and eight rebounds.

Scouting the Jaspers

Peter Mulligan leads the team in scoring with 20.3 points a game, while freshman CJ Anderson is averaging 16.6 points and 8.5 rebounds a contest. The Jaspers are shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 31.6 percent from three-point range. They average 8.8 steals a game, and their opponents average 16.6 turnovers a contest.
