The Canisius volleyball team will start a five-match road stretch on Tuesday, when the Golden Griffins travel north to meet longtime rival Niagara in the first Battle of the Bridge contest for the 2026-27 academic year. The match will start at 6 p.m., and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
• Canisius is 1-11 overall and 0-2 in Metro Conference play after falling to Fairfield, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at home.
• Niagara is 1-9 on the year and 0-2 in league action after losing to Sacred Heart, 3-1 on Saturday.
• As a team, Canisius ranks third in the Metro Conference with its 1.79 service aces per set. Freshman Kenslie Warmbrodt ranks 10th in the conference with her 0.38 aces per set.
• Senior libero Brenda Reynaga ranks second in the Metro and 29th nationally with her 4.60 digs per set. She has recorded 12-or more digs in eight of the team's 12 matches to date.
• Junior Emma Isroff leads the Blue and Gold with 105 kills. Her 2.50 kills per set are also tops on the team.
• Freshman Emily Helmers has a team-high 29 total blocks this season (two solo blocks and 27 block assists). She has multiple block assists in eight of the team's 12 matches this season.
• Tuesday will be the 118th all-time meeting between Canisius and Niagara, dating back to the first match in 1975. Canisius leads the all-time series, 60-55-2. Canisius has played Niagara more than any other common opponent.
• Last season, Canisius defeated Niagara 3-1 on the road in the opening round of the conference tournament to secure a trip to the league's semifinal round. 

UP NEXT
Canisius will return to the road on Friday, Oct. 2, when the Blue and Gold travels to play at Rider in Lawrenceville, N.J. The match between the Griffs and the Broncs is set to start at 6 p.m., and the contest will be broadcast live through Rider's BroncVision.
