The Canisius volleyball team heads west on the New York State Thruway to face Syracuse in the inaugural Flower City Invite on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m., at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, N.Y. This match-up marks the third-straight season the two teams have played during the non-conference slate.

• Winners in three of its last four outings, Syracuse enters this contest with a 3-3 record after sweeping the Cornell Invite last weekend.
• For Canisius, Sunday's match against the Orange serves as the team's third neutral site contest of the season. The Golden Griffins are currently in the midst of a scheduling stretch where the Blue and Gold is playing seven of eight contests at home.
• Junior Emma Isroff was named to the Canisius/UB Invitational All-Tournament Team last weekend. She leads the Griffs with her 65 total kills and 2.60 kills per set.
• Freshman Kenslie Warmbrodt leads the team with 12 service aces, which is tied for third most for any player in the Metor Conference through the first two weeks of the season. Warmbrodt also leads the team in assists with 128 on the season, including 22 in last Sunday's contest against Dartmouth.
• Freshman Emily Helmers leads the Blue and Gold in blocks with 18, including a season high five in Canisius' most recent outing against Dartmouth.
• Senior libero Brenda Reynaga leads the Griffs and ranks fourth in the Metro with her 4.24 digs per set. She has posted 20-or more digs three times this year.
• This will be the 17th all-time meeting between Canisius and Syracuse in volleyball. This series dates back to 1978.
UP NEXT
Canisius will return home to co-host the WNY Invitational with Niagara Sept. 18-19. On Sept. 18, the Griffs will play host to Le Moyne before taking on Valparaiso to wrap up the non-conference schedule. Friday's match will start at 6 p.m. and Saturday's contest will begin at 2 p.m.
