Men's Soccer Falls in Season Opener at Le Moyne

Rhys Allport scored the lone goal in the contest in the 54th minute to propel Le Moyne to a 1-0 win over Canisius in collegiate men's soccer action Thursday at Ted Grant Field in Syracuse, N.Y.

In the season opener for both programs, Allport's second-half tally proved to be all the support Dolphins goalie Wyatt Dupell needed as he made one save to earn the shutout.

Graduate goalkeeper Preston Harold got the start in net for the Golden Griffins, making three saves in the contest.

Canisius and Le Moyne played to a scoreless first half to open the 2026 season as Le Moyne registered two shots on target, while Canisius tallied one during the first 45 minutes.

The Dolphins broke the deadlock less than 10 minutes into the second half as Allport delivered a strike from distance that beat Harold to the top right corner, giving Le Moyne the lead.

Canisius delivered its best opportunity of the second half off a corner kick in the 88th minute, but Le Moyne cleared away the danger as the Dolphins and Dupell held on for the 1-0 victory.
