Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Late Goal Lifts Robert Morris Past Men’s Soccer

Callum Doyle Travers scored his first goal of the 2026 campaign in the 87th minute to break the scoreless draw and Josh Lane made one stop in goal to lead visiting Robert Morris to a 1-0 victory over Canisius in a weather-delayed collegiate men's soccer contest Sunday afternoon at the Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, N.Y.

Doyle Travers' late goal stunned the Golden Griffins (0-2) as Lane picked up his first clean sheet of the season for the Colonials (0-1-1). Graduate goalkeeper Preston Harold started in goal for Canisius, finishing with one save between the pipes.

Playing to a scoreless first half, the Griffs' best scoring chance came in the 26th minute off a corner kick, as the ball found a crowd of Canisius attackers in the box but went just wide of the frame.

The game was then delayed twice due to lightning, with stoppages coming in the 66th and 71st minutes.

The game remained scoreless late into the 87th minute before Doyle Travers broke the deadlock, picking up the loose ball at the top of the box and beating Harold to the bottom right corner. Matthew Eckersall and Miguel Dominguez were credited with assists on the game's lone score.
