Ella Forcucci Earns MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

Freshman Ella Forcucci was named the Jersey Mike's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Forcucci has won a weekly award for the fourth consecutive week after she tallied three goals and three assists in Thursday's 22-5 win over Mercyhurst.

Forcucci has tallied a hat trick in every single outing to start her collegiate career which marks a program record and has scored five-or-more points in six out of the Griff's seven games this season.

The Orchard Park, N.Y. native averages 3.86 goals per game which ranks sixth in the nation and leads all NCAA freshmen. Forcucci has also recorded 5.43 points per game which is twelfth-most among the nation.

Canisius rounds out non conference play with a midweek home contest against Le Moyne on Wednesday. Game time at the Demske Sports Complex is scheduled for 3 p.m. and the contest will stream live on ESPN+. Admission to the game is free.
