Klimpke notched a goal and three assists while Reineke finished with two goals and two assists for the Colonials (11-17-3, 11-10-2 AHA). Cameron Garvey notched a goal and an assist while Charlie Schenkel turned aside 24-of-25 shots faced between the pipes.

Junior Rhys Chiddenton tallied the lone goal for the Golden Griffins (15-14-2, 10-11-2 AHA). Senior Chase Clark got the start in goal for Canisius and made 21 saves.

Chiddenton opened the scoring less than three minutes into the contest, redirecting senior Killian Kiecker-Olson's point shot over the pad of Schenkel for his 10th goal of the season.
Reineke tied the game with a power-play goal at the 8:05 mark of the second period, redirecting Klimpke's centering feed past Clark from close range to knot the score at 1-1.

Klimpke gave RMU the lead with less than four minutes to play in the middle frame, firing a wrist shot over the blocker of Clark from the middle of the slot for his team-leading 12th goal of the season.

Reineke closed out the second-period outburst for the Colonials with four to play in the period, jamming home a loose puck from just off the left post to give RMU a 3-1 cushion heading into the third.

Garvey closed out the scoring with an empty-net goal with just under three minutes to play in the third to determine the three-goal margin of victory.
