Golf's Second Round on Saturday Suspended Due to Darkness

Canisius junior Mikey Takacs shot a one-over 73 and fellow junior Alex Schickling posted a two-over par score of 74 in the first round of the Alex Lagowitz Memorial, played Saturday at Colgate's Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton, N.Y.

Heavy rain midway through the first round forced golfers off the course for nearly one hour. Because of that delay, the second round of the 54-hole event was suspended due to darkness. Golfers will return to the course on Sunday at 8 a.m., to complete the second round before teeing-off to start the final round of play.

Takacs birdied his final hole of the first round for his 73, while Schickling started off the day with a birdie-3 on the par-4 13th hole en route to his 74. Sophomore Chase Burgess posted a birdie on his first hole and his final hole of the opening round, as he shot a four-over par 76.
