Golf Announces 2025 Fall Schedule

A tournament in Nebraska, an event in Ohio and the annual Little Three Golf Championship highlight the 2025 Canisius golf schedule, head coach Todd Hummel announced today.

In all, the Golden Griffins are scheduled to play in six fall events, starting Sept. 6-7 when the team makes the trip east on the New York State Thruway to participate in the Alex Lagowitz Memorial, hosted by Colgate. Four of Canisius' six fall tournaments will be 54-hole events.

After starting the fall campaign in Hamilton, N.Y., Canisius will travel to take part in the Creighton Invitational Sept. 15-16 at Shadow Ridge Country Club in Omaha, Neb. That event will mark the first time in program history where the Blue and Gold has played in the state of Nebraska.

On Sept. 24, Canisius will renew its long-standing rivalry with Niagara and St. Bonaventure with the 2025 edition of the Little Three Golf Championship. This year's tournament will serve as the 73rd edition of the event, which makes the Little Three Championship the third-most played college golf tournament in the country. Niagara will serve as the host of the Little Three Championship this year, and the course and location will be announced at a later date.

The Griffs will close out the month of September at a 54-hole tournament in Nashport, Ohio when the team takes part in the RedHawk Invitational, hosted by Miami (Ohio). The trip to Ohio will be the program's first trip to the Buckeye State since the spring of 2007.

Canisius will close out the fall schedule with appearances in both the Matthews Auto Collegiate and Bucknell Invitational. Last year, Mikey Takacs tied for 17th in the field at the Matthews Auto Collegiate.
